The Osaka Amazing Pass bundles unlimited rides on Osaka Metro, city buses and some private railways within Osaka City with free entry to about 40 attractions. It is great value for a packed sightseeing day, but it is not for everyone. Here is what it covers, what it does not, which version to pick, and who should skip it.

Quick answer
- Worth it if: you will visit several of the included paid attractions and ride around Osaka City a lot.
- Skip it if: you only plan one or two attractions, mostly walk, or spend your day outside Osaka City (Kyoto, Nara).
- Important: it is not valid on JR lines.
What the pass includes
Transport (standard version)
- Osaka Metro
- Osaka City Buses (some routes excluded)
- Private railway lines within Osaka City: Hankyu, Hanshin, Keihan, Kintetsu and Nankai
Attractions
The pass gives free entry to about 40 attractions, including Osaka Castle Tower, the Osaka Gozabune Boat, the Umeda Sky Building Kuchu Teien Observatory (until 15:00), the Osaka Aqua-Liner and the Dotonbori River Cruise. Each facility is free once. You also get discounts or gifts at about 50 participating facilities and stores.
Operating hours can change without notice, so check each attraction’s official website before you go.
Which version should you choose?
Standard 1-day or 2-day pass. This is the best choice for sightseeing inside Osaka City. It covers Osaka Metro, city buses and private railway lines within Osaka City.
Osaka Itami Airport (ITM) version. Choose this if you arrive or depart through Itami. It adds the Osaka Monorail, the Kita-Osaka Kyuko Railway (Esaka to Senri-Chuo) and some Hankyu sections (Shimoshinjo to Yamada, Hotarugaike to Mikuni).
Kansai Airport 28-hour version. Choose this if you arrive at Kansai Airport. It is valid for continuous 28 hours from first use and starts with a single one-way Nankai ride from Kansai Airport Station to Namba. The listing notes that an additional express ticket surcharge applies.
The standard and Itami versions cannot be used for departure from Kansai Airport Station. If you want the pass for your airport transfer, choose the Kansai Airport version.
KKday also lists an Osaka Amazing Pass + Kansai Airport Transport bundle. The listing shows no cancellation for the bundle, so read its terms carefully before buying.
What the pass does not cover
- JR lines. This includes JR trains to Kyoto and the JR line to Universal Studios Japan.
- Kyoto and Nara. The pass is for Osaka City.
- Express surcharges. Reserved-seat or limited-express services on private lines still need their own ticket.
- Some bus routes. The KKday listing includes a coverage map, so check your route.
- Closed attractions. The listing noted that the Osaka Wheel was temporarily out of service as of November 26, 2025, with refunds unavailable for that reason. Check the current status before you plan around any attraction.
How to decide in two minutes
- List the included attractions you really want to visit.
- Add up their entry fees.
- Add the Metro and bus fares you expect to pay.
- Compare the total with the pass price.
The official 1-day pass has been listed at 3,500 yen and the 2-day pass at 5,000 yen for the March 2026 to March 2027 sales period, but prices on KKday vary by country and date, so check the current price at checkout. A sample sightseeing day
This is a suggested order, so check opening hours before you go.
- Morning: Umeda Sky Building Kuchu Teien Observatory (entry is until 15:00).
- Midday: Osaka Castle Tower and the Gozabune Boat.
- Evening: Dotonbori River Cruise, then dinner nearby.
Because each facility is free only once, spend the second day on attractions you have not used yet.
